Jesse Evans

Jesse Evans, age 71, of Rutherfordton, passed away, Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his residence.

Jesse was born Saturday, September 29, 1951 in Wyoming County, West Virginia. He worked in textiles for many years and was a member of Jesus Way Christian Ministries. Jesse enjoyed fishing, watching Braves Baseball and Redskins Football. His life’s passion was his grandchildren, and he loved all his family dearly.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Matthew Evans II and a nephew, William Dale Evans.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Crystal Wilson (Robert) of Spindale; sons, Phillip Evans (Chanci) of Forest City and Joshua Evans (Cassie) of Cowpens; siblings, Linda Stevens (Jerry), William Evans, Eugene Evans (Dortha), Paul Darnell Evans (Marie), Patricia Darlene Wooten, Elizabeth Pauline Taylor (Terry), Wanda Garvin, Sherry Owens (Keith), Michael Evans; his beloved grandchildren, Matthew Hopkins, Tiffany Swink, Misty Swink, Jeffrey Swink, Jr., Tyler Craig and Lillian Wilson.

    A private family gathering will be held to honor Jesse’s life.
