Jessie Perry

Jessie Perry, age 85, of East Main Street, Forest City, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Jessie was born Monday, November 4, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Charles Robert Self and Nannie Melton Self. She was a graduate of Sunshine High School, class of 1953. She worked in the office for Watkins Motor Line and later for Fed Ex Shipping for many years. Jessie was a past member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible. She was a dedicated Christian lady. Jessie enjoyed reading about history and taking trips through the mountains.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, A.C. McCombs and a son, Rex McCombs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Rose McCombs; sisters, Dessie Smith, O’Lema Rice and Esther Bumgarner all of Golden Valley and a brother, Clayton Self (Pansy) of Golden Valley. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Bryan Victorino (Nick) and Sommer Bivens and great-grandchildren, Matthew Victorino and Sahara Mata.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.
