Jetta Ann Smawley, age 90, of Ellenboro, NC, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Fair Haven of Forest City.
Born November 30, 1927 in Sharp County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Jay Dean Chandless and Minnie Lewis Chandless. She was a member of Race Path Baptist Church and worked in the textile mills most of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Staatz.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ronald Smawley and wife, Barbara of Ellenboro; daughter, Brenda Lawson and husband, Tom of Ellenboro and a lifelong friend, Shirley Parris of Ellenboro. She is also survived by two grandsons, Jason Smawley (Kristin) of Altavista, Virginia and Scott Smawley of Hayes, Virginia; two great grandsons, Addison and Gunnar both of Altavista; two nieces, Pattie Srubas and Annette Staatz of Bonner Springs, Kansas; nephew, Gary Staatz also of Bonner Springs; three great nieces, Jennifer Cook, Kimberly Srubas, April Staatz and a great nephew, Cameron Staatz all of Bonner Springs.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Race Path Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
