Jimmy Campfield

Jimmy Campfield, age 69, of Ellenboro, NC went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his residence.
Jimmy was born September 9, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late Martha Jane Lovelace Campfield and James "Jake" Walter Campfield, Sr. who resides in Henrietta. Jimmy was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1967 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Sonoco-Crellin and Watts Regulator for many years. Jimmy was a longtime member of High Shoal Baptist Church. He also volunteered as a Boy Scout Troop Leader and a Little League baseball coach. Jimmy was an avid golfer and a devoted Clemson Tiger fan.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Virginia Campfield; father and mother in-law, P. D. and Velma Walker and brother-in-law, Dick Walker.
Besides his father, those left to treasure his memory include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Cindy Walker Campfield; son, Russ Campfield and wife, Crystal of Forest City; brother, Dennis Campfield and wife, Kathy of Boiling Springs, NC; sister-in-law, Becky Walker of Rocky Mount, NC; two granddaughters, Maddy Bright, Skylar Elton and three aunts, Atrice "Red" Thompson, Freida Campfield and Peggy Campfield. He is also survived by two stepbrothers, Junior Branch and wife, Peggy of Six Points and Chris Branch and wife, Myra of Harris and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
