Jimmy Allen 'Paw Paw' Phillips, age 64, of Henrietta, NC, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on January 9, 1947 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Sam Lee Phillips and Nora Lois Ruppe Phillips. He worked in textiles, construction and most recently for Phillips' Re-Modeling. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was also a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Phillips and Lee Phillips.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Diane Keeter Phillips; one daughter, Anita Rich and husband, Jeffrey of Bostic; one son, Tim Phillips of Henrietta; three brothers, Floyd Phillips and wife, Frances of Forest City, Mack Phillips of Spindale, Bud Phillips and wife, Peggy of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Carol Melton and husband, Robert of Monroe, NC and Mary Jane Kennedy of Rutherfordton; six grandchildren, Jeremy Parker and wife, Ashley, Tyler Parker, Dallas Rich, Kylie Rich, Jessica Phillips and Marcus Phillips; three great-grandchildren Dylan Parker, Trent Parker and Aaiyden Swepson. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Janice Downey and husband, Russell of Shiloh and one brother-in-law, Alan Keeter and wife, Carla of Forest City and by several nieces and nephews.
