Jimmy Lee Walker, age 77, of Forest City, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his residence.
Born July 14, 1939 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Johnny Francis Walker and Annie Mae Waters Walker. Jimmy worked for Hammond's Alignment Shop for twenty years and owned and operated Walker's Body Shop for twenty years before retirement. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He will be known for being a hard worker and enjoyed driving race cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Peggy Sisk Walker and brother, Ray Walker.
Survivors include three daughters, Tami Atchley and husband, Ernest of Charlotte, Kim Holland and Cynthia Pettit and husband, James all of Forest City; two sons, Scott Walker and Jeff Walker and wife, Carol all of Forest City; one sister, Grace Walker of Forest; brother, Freddy "Goat" Walker of Sandy Mush; caregiver, Jennifer Henson; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Danny Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow in the Alexander Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times they will gathered at 167 M.D. Blanton Road, Forest City.
