Jody Waters

Jody Waters, age 67, of Mooresboro, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.

Jody was born Monday, February 18, 1957 in Rutherford County to Floyd Waters who resides in Caroleen and to the late Ruby Ethel Pope Waters. He was a star athlete during his high school sports career at Chase High School and was a 1975 graduate. Jody worked for over forty years at PPG before retirement. He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, listening to music and watching NASCAR.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a nephew, John Waters.

Besides his father, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of thirty-six years, Deanie Goins Waters; daughters, Myra Waters Lowe (Bradley) of Spartanburg, SC and Jessica Waters and fiancé, Kasey Rennick of Mooresboro; brother, Bud Waters (Debbie) of Caroleen; niece, Julie Waters; nephew, Jordan Waters (Karina); great nieces, Bella and Nora and a great nephew, Jonah.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 19th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home on Friday. At other times they will be gathered at 316 Sandy Run Church Road, Mooresboro. The body will lie in state on Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
