Joe Fasolino

November 13, 1946 — September 15, 2023

Mooresboro, NC

Joseph Fasolino (Joe), 76, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 16th at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a very long and debilitating illness.  Born November 13, 1946, he was the son of Francis and Edna C. Fasolino of Cliffside, NC and the grandson of John and Mary Fasolino of Boston, MA and Grover and Sallie Compton of Cliffside, NC.

Joe attended Cliffside Elementary and graduated from Chase High School in 1965, furthering his education at ICC and in Florida taking courses in the electrical field.  He worked in electrical maintenance at Daniel Construction, Fiber Industries of Shelby and Greenville, SC, Cone Mills of Cliffside, Camp Electric of Rutherfordton, NC and retired from Brown Packing of Gaffney, SC.

Joe was an avid fan of dance recitals, band concerts, football, softball and baseball, especially when his children or grandchildren were participating.  He loved bowling, fishing, target shooting, talking about guns, wrestling, camping, flea markets, but most of all, enjoyed talking to people and doing things for them.  He loved being with family and friends – any time, any place.  Joe served in the Cliffside Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Paul Fasolino, one sister Mary F. Moss and husband Tommy, and many aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years JoAnne Parris Fasolino, daughters Michelle F. Jack (Bobby) and Christina F. Lee (Johnny) and five grandchildren that were so special to him: Benji Jack of Raleigh, Naomi Jack, Alexis Jack, Chris Lee and Samantha Lee all of Cliffside.  He had one special cousin Randy Clayton (Janet) of Atlanta, GA and one sister-in-law, Peggy P. Hamrick of Cliffside.

If Joe could talk, he would like to thank all the health professionals who diligently helped manage his ailments, especially Dr. Muhammad Ebrahim, Emily and their team at Spartanburg Nephrology, DCI Dialysis Center of Gaffney, SC  who became like a second family to him and Center Well Home Health (especially Carla), and the many friends who have stuck by him through it all – Jerry and  Amanda, Larry and Tootie, Danny, Clyde, Vince, Jerry and Tina, Earl and Dorothy, Chris, Robyn, and other Cliffside firemen.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 20th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Causby officiating. Interment will follow a Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or to Cliffside Area Fire Department, 4600 US Highway 221A, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
