Joe Steve McGuire

Joe Steve McGuire, age 82, of Cliffside, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 23, 2024 at Atrium Health-Pineville.

Joe was born Saturday, October 17, 1942 in Pacolet, SC to the late J.M. McGuire and Odell Pennington McGuire. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Joe worked at Hamrick Mill for many and later as an insurance agent for Farm Bureau. He was also a graduate of Fruitland Bible College and pastored several Baptist churches. He was a member of Goodes Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed shooting and spending time outdoors. Joe was a proud member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was dedicated to his family, his country and to his God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan McCraw.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of almost sixty years, Margie B. McGuire; son, Timothy W. McGuire (Suzanne) of Cliffside and brother, Mike McGuire (Beth) of Pacolet.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 28th at Goodes Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Robbie Hensley officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one-hour prior service time at the church.
