Joel Ledbetter

Joel Dean Ledbetter, age 73, of Abes Mountain Road, Mooresboro, NC, died December 4, 2012 at his residence.
Joel was born September 8, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Freddie Ledbetter and Louise Honeycutt Ledbetter. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1957. He worked in textiles and for PPG Industries for several years, before going to work for Fiber Industries/Celanese and retiring after 32 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars, fixing things and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Hugh Ledbetter.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred H. Ledbetter; one son, Jody Ledbetter and Lesley Hollifield of Mooresboro; three daughters, Beverly Blanton and husband, Jimmy of Mooresboro, Sandy Brewer and husband, Charles of Mooresboro and Melissa Hamrick of Shelby; one sister, Emily Hyde of Lattimore; six grandchildren, Erin Blanton, Jenna Blanton, Cameron Hamrick, Riley Ledbetter, Manda Hollifield and Monica Hollifield. He is also survived by one uncle, Carmel Honeycutt and wife, Mildred of Cliffside, one niece, Anita Greene and one nephew, Blake Hyde.
