Joey Cowan

Joey R. Cowan, age 19, of State Line Road, Mooresboro, NC passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at this home. He was born January 19, 1989 in Newburgh, New York. He was a 2006 graduate of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida. Joey loved football and his favorite teams were the Tampa Bay Bucaneers and the New York Giants. He was known for his brilliant mind. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Louise Furman and Frances Theresa Bauder, an aunt, Diane Chain, an uncle, David Cowan, and a cousin, Sam Jones.

Joey is survived by his parents, Rick and Mary Cowan of Mooresboro, NC formerly of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Mary Cowan and Noel Cowan both of Tampa, FL; one brother, Richard Lee Cowan, Jr. of Tampa, FL; Godchild and niece, Mariah Lee Cowan and a niece Tiara Lee Torres; grandfathers, John Furman of Mooresboro, NC and Stanley Bauder of Tennessee; his fiancé, April Clark of Chesnee, SC; six uncles, Frank Cowan, John Cowan, Kevin Cowan, Chuck Cowan, Greg Furman, and Tony Chain; and one aunt, Lisa Furman.
