John Dyer

John Walter Dyer, age 73, of Bostic, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his residence.
Born on March 6, 1943 in Cleveland County, he was a son to the late Doc Lawrence Dyer and Annie Mae Melton Dyer Roberson. He worked in construction as a roofer for many years and was a member of Walls Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Coran Roberson; two sons, Paul Eric Dyer and Steven Douglas Dyer; brother, Lawrence Dyer, Jr.; sister, Lorene Hopper and two sister-in-laws, Carrie Dyer and Joanne Dyer.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Dyer of Mooresboro and daughter, Kathy Banich of Kannapolis, NC; eight brothers, Richard Dyer and wife, Katherine of Ellenboro, Dean Dyer and wife, Linda and Frank Dyer and wife, Nancy all of Bostic, James Dyer of Gastonia, Lester Dyer, Leroy Dyer and wife, Mary and Arthur Dyer and wife, Bea all of Shelby and Fred Dyer and wife, Jo of Kings Mountain; one sister, Ruth Dyer Beattie and husband, Hugh of Bostic. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jessica Baxter and Leah Dyer Blanton and two great-grandchildren, Mia Blanton and David Banich.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend David Philbeck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
