John Holland

March 30, 1947 — April 5, 2018

John Roger Holland, age 71, of Ellenboro, died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born March 30, 1947 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late John Grover Holland and Roxanne Eve Lovelace Holland. He retired from Cone Mills after 40 years of service and loved NASCAR, #48.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carol Holland; two brothers, G.C. Holland and Jimmy Holland and four sisters, Sara Barnes, Katie Davis, Peggy Dixon and Linda Yelton.
Survivors include two daughters, Thesa Holland, Christy Nunez and husband Raymond; one sister, Barbara Moore. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Samantha Holland and a lovely lady friend, Sue Hubbard.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robert Harris officiating. Interment will follow the service at Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are respectfully requested to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
