John Jones

John Marshall Jones, age 84, of Forest City, NC passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at his home. He was born November 7, 1923 in Rutherford County to the late Lonnie Kenneth Jones and Gertrude Hardin Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mae Jones, a brother Bob Jones, and a sister Doris Smith. John was the owner of Marshall Jones Auto Sales and a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He was a World War II, US Army veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Purple Heart Recipient. John was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Greene Jones of the home, a son, Doug Jones and wife Leeann of Forest City; two grandchildren, Kelly Renea Jones of Forest City and Allison Rae Jones of Forest City; two great grandchildren, Braxton Tyler Jones and Canaan Izaiah Piercy both of Forest City. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Foye Jones of Forest City and Syble Greene Barnes of Lexington, SC.
