John Newton

John Cody Newton RPh., age 90, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Rutherfordton.
John was born August 29, 1928 in Anderson County, SC to the late Reverend Gary Newton and Beulah Farnham Newton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
and worked as a pharmacist most of his life. John worked for Eckerd and Revco Pharmacies and co-owned a pharmacy with his brother in Fayetteville, NC and
owned a pharmacy in Cliffside N.C. He was also an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Newton.
He is survived by one daughter, Amelia Anne Newton of Spindale; two sons, Andrew Egan Newton of Johns Island, SC and James Edward Newton of Johns
Island S.C. He is also survived by three grandsons, Egan, William and Nicholas Newton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Forest City Inpatient Unit Chapel of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills
372 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC with Reverend Jessica Godfrey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
