John Settles

John 'Paul' Settles, age 61, of Hillcrest Adult Care of Forest City, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Rutherford Hospital.
A native of Polk County, he was the son of the late Columbus 'Lum' and Bessie Bradley Settles. He was a longtime member of Harmon Street Baptist Church and was known as always having a smile on his face and a loving heart. He was everyone's friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jane Settles Miller.
Survivors include, two nephews, Russell Lee Miller, Jr. and Jeffrey Dee Miller both of Wilmington, NC; three great nephews, Michael 'Eric' Miller, Brian Anthony Miller and Nicholas Mason Miller and a loving church family.
