Johnny Bright, age 81, of Henrietta, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.
Johnny was born Saturday, April 11, 1942, in McDowell County to the late Jessie Bright and Edith Condrey Bright. He worked in textiles for many years and retired from Doran Mills in Shelby. Johnny loved gardening, fishing, camping, was an avid hunter and enjoyed lake life. He also liked watching dirt track racing. His greatest joy was found in spoiling his grands and great grands. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Floyd Bright; daughter-in-law, Vickie Bright and grandchildren, Cameron Causby-Bristol, Logan Shahan and Jenna Bright.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Beatrice Bright; children, Kevin Bright of Sandy Mush, Ava Bright of Henrietta and Johnny Bright, Jr. (Penny) of Forest City; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and his sisters, Faye Frady of Marion, Betty Parker of Shingle Hollow, Judy Proctor of Marion, and Janice Hardin of Shingle Hollow.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend James Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
