Jolene Cooper, age 71, of Marion, NC, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born November 12, 1942 in Polk County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earl Taylor and Dora Ridings Taylor. Jolene was a homemaker and was a help meet as a pastor's wife for fifty-one years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a dedicated prayer warrior. Jolene enjoyed music and singing unto her Lord and Savior.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Reverend Reid Cooper; two daughters, Laura Chastain and husband, Steve of Gastonia and Sharon Brigman and husband, Jeff of Rutherfordton; son, Jimmy Cooper of Forest City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Broad River Baptist Church with Rev. Reid Cooper, Rev. Steve Sisk and Rev. Clifford Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
