Jolley Hutchins

October 14, 1932 — April 22, 2009

Jolley M. Hutchins, age 76, of Mooresboro, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hutchins. He was employed as a weaver in the textile mills, worked for Wilson Tree Service for 15 years and also drove a taxi for Tri-City Taxi Service. He enjoyed gardening and animals. He was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. His family was some of the first homesteaders to the area and he lived at one time in a family log cabin built over 300 years ago on Frog Creek Road.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Estella R. Hutchins; two sons, Roy Hutchins of Rutherford County and Roger Hutchins and his wife, Cindy of Mooresboro; one daughter, Doris Shires and her husband, Larry, of Ellenboro; two step sons, Bobby Rice, Jr. of Forest City and Danny Rice and his wife, Debbie of Mooresboro; two step daughters, Rita Faye McCoy of Spindale and Stella Rice Bailey of Mooresboro; one sister, Betty Hutchins of Ellenboro. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
