Joseph "Joe" Hamrick

Joseph “Joe” Hamrick, age 77, of Ellenboro, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  Joe was born Wednesday, September 8, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Dewey S. Hamrick and Louise Padgett Hamrick. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Joe worked for various companies, but mainly worked as a self-employed handyman. He enjoyed taking care of his pets, gardening and working with his hands. Joe was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Burt and Britt Hamrick.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Joy Lancaster of Rutherfordton and Cathy Hamrick of Marion; sister, Beulah Fite of Ellenboro; two granddaughters, Brittany Paganetti (Kevin) and Brianna Story (Eric); a great-grandson, Jack Story; a host of nieces and nephews which inlcudes a special nephew, Marty Hamrick.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
