Jospeh Jenkins

August 14, 1943 — January 24, 2018

Joseph "Hal" Jenkins, age 74, of Forest City died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Yates Jenkins and Laura Wilson Jenkins. He was a highly skilled industrial sewing machine mechanic and worked for several local mills before retirement. Hal was an avid golfer, softball player and "fast" car enthusiast. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edria Marie Jenkins and a brother, Edward Jenkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Frances Clary Jenkins; one daughter, Brooke Jenkins of Boiling Springs, SC; one brother, Bobby Jenkins and wife, Sue, of Ellenboro, NC and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Meredith who is age seven.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27th at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Wayne Blackwood and Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
