Joy W. Gold, age 55, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away peacefully in the presence of those who loved and cared for her.
Born January 22, 1961 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Carl Ray Wellmon and Annie Pearl Gantt Wellmon. She was a graduate of Crest High School, class of 1979 and worked for PPG Industries for seventeen years. She was of the Baptist faith. Joy enjoyed reading and flower gardening and especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Chris Wellmon.
Survivors include her fiancé, Rodney Suttle of Mooresboro; one daughter, Patty Gold Bell and husband, Jason and one son, Daniel Gold and wife, Jody all of Mooresboro; brother, Mike Wellmon and special friend, Dorothy Beck of Shelby; sister, Kathy Barrett and husband, Hubert of Shelby; two sister-in-laws, Ronda Wellmon of Kings Mountain and Judy Wellmon of Salisbury. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jayson Bell, Logan Gold, Peyton Suttle, Jackson Gold, Christopher Lyons, Nathan Suttle, Lexi Francis and Ethan Salazar.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin Rhom officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
