Joyce Wilhide Cole

Joyce Wilhide Cole, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Joyce was born January 6, 1964 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Howard Wilhide and Valerie King Nutter. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for over fifteen years and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Matthew Nutter and a brother, David Wilhide.

Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” Cole; daughters, Jennifer Glover, Parris Bristol, Raven Cole and Angel Thrift (David) all of Forest City; sisters, Tammy Smith (Ronnie) of Morganton, NC, Stacey Kempster (Kenny) of Rutherfordton and Samantha Wilhide; brothers, Bart Wilhide (Sandy) of Rutherfordton, Michael Wilhide of Rutherfordton and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 2nd at the Harrelson Funeral Home with Reverend Justin McCarson and Mr. Kenny Kempster officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
