Juanita H. Hoy

Juanita H. Hoy, age 91, formerly of Cliffside, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at the White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Juanita was born March 19, 1929 in Lincoln County, NC to the late Arsa Lee Howell. She was a graduate of Northbrook #1 High School in Cherryville, class of 1947. Juanita was an outstanding basketball player during her high school days and later excelled in Amateur Athletics in her adult years. She worked at Burlington Industries for many years. Juanita was a member of Florence Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in the Senior Games at the Rutherford County Senior Center. She also loved watching football.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Hoy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her cousins, Diane Nestlerode (Tommy) of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Dennis Shidal (Faye) of Vale, NC, Carol Shidal (Cathy) of Wilmington, NC and Guy Howell, Jr. of Lincolnton, NC. She is also survived by a cousin-in-law, Paul Tim Jones (Nora) of Rutherfordton.

A committal service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Cleveland Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
