Junior Toney

Junior Toney, age 81, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Junior was born April 12, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late William Gleason Toney, Sr. and Ossie Murray Toney. He was a graduate of Sunshine High School and worked many years as a truck driver. Junior was a member of Chase Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Dianne Toney, Brenda Toney, Kathy Perry, Louise Smiley and a brother, Billy M. Toney.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Lisa Toney Skipper of Bostic and Cheryl Baynard of Forest City; three sons, Darrell Toney (Loretta) of Forest City, Brian Toney of Harris and Jim Biggerstaff of Mooresboro; sister, Etta L. Toney of Forest City and brother, Jerry D. Toney (Brenda) of Shelby. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather Powell, Christian Toney, Michael Toney, Jeffrey Baynard and Joshua Baynard; six great-grandchildren, Briana Powell, Sarah Toney, Emma Powell, Jonah Baynard, Jasper Baynard and Bradley Baynard; great-great-granddaughter, Felicity Rose Baynard and numerous nieces and nephews.

No formal services will be conducted.
