Kathey Hicks

Kathey Hicks, age 62, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Henderson Care in Forest City.

Kathey was born January 14, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Frank Schultz and Marie Layton Schultz. She worked at Cone Mills-Avondale Plant for many years and was a member of Grace Chapel of Forest City. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and working on puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her husband, Jimmy Hicks and a brother, Johnny Goforth.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Michelle Hicks of Mooresboro; two sons, Jamie Hicks (Torie) of Mooresboro and Adam Hicks (Jessica) of Forest City and a brother, Ray Goforth (Nell). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kalab Yirin, Kaitlyn Yirin, Rylie Hicks, Kolton Hicks and Addyson Hicks.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Grace Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
