Kathleen Walker Stacy

Kathleen Walker Stacy, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Kathleen was born Wednesday, October 1, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Roscoe Walker and Mamie Smith Walker. She worked for the deli at Winn Dixie for seventeen years and as a cafeteria manager for thirty years at the Rutherford County Public Schools. She was a faithful member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. Kathleen was known for her excellent cooking skills and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Toney.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-two years, Basil Stacy; three sons, Ray Albert Stacy (Teresa) of Forest City, Nelson Ray Stacy of Caroleen and Tracy Eugene Stacy (Patricia) of Cliffside; sisters, Mary Pleasant of Forest City and Maybell Athey of Salisbury. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Julia Johnson (Wesley Ray Johnson), Basil Ryan Stacy (Anna) and great grandchildren, Alexander Ray Johnson, Autumn Grace Johnson and Ryan Joseph Stacy.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Cash officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
