Kimberly Shehan Mercado, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.
Kim was born Friday, June 5, 1964 in Rutherford County to the late Rex Shehan and Alice Fay Rossman. She worked as seamstress and cloth inspector for Deb Manufacturing and Sara Lee Textiles and later for Fast Foods. Kim enjoyed drawing and couponing. She was a past member of Gray’s Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by all her knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Michael Biggerstaff.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty-six years, Miguel Mercado; son, Jeffrey Scott Nanney and daughter, Cheyenne Michelle Mercado (Serenity) all of Forest City; a special friend and caregiver, Jose Ramirez; sister, Crystal Beheler of Forest City; brother, James Rex Shehan, Jr. of Ellenboro; niece, Cassidy Ellenburg (Jerry Hernandez) of Forest City; great nephew, Samuel Ellenburg and great niece, Nova Ellenburg.
A private family celebration to honor Kim’s life will be held.
