Larry Lane, age 77, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Larry was born December 28, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Elbert Lane and Muriel Ward Lane. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1961 and worked as a maintenance technician for PPG for thirty-eight years before retirement. Larry was a longtime and faithful member of Henrietta First Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and treasurer and was actively involved in the school back-pack program. Larry was an avid bass fisherman and gardener. He and his wife, Ramona, enjoyed hiking to notable waterfalls and photographing their beautiful scenery. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Lane.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Ramona Saine Lane; daughter, Sandy Rundio (Henry) of Dallas, NC; son, Brian Lane (Teresa) of Forest City; four brothers, Reid Lane (Dot) of Rutherfordton, Whitey Lane (Brenda) of Forest City, Ronnie Lane (Brenda) of Forest City, Randy Lane (Anne) of Henderson, Nevada; sister, Nancy Lane Baker (Neil) of Forest City; three grandchildren, Haley Rothrock (Brandon), Henry Rundio IV, Breanne Lane and great granddaughter, Addison Rothrock.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Avondale-Henrietta-Caroleen Cemetery with Reverend James Johnson, Reverend Scott Butler and Reverend Pete Bridges officiating. The public may pay their respects on Tuesday from 8:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Social distancing and masks are required by all attendees.
