Larry Wilkie

"Larry" Kent Wilkie, age 66 of Bostic, NC, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
Born May 30, 1947 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Cecil "Neil" Wilkie and Bertha Kent Wilkie. Larry was a commercial painter most of his life and was a US Army veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Todd Wilkie.
Survivors include his life companion, Dorothy "Anne" Sadler of Bostic; son, Matthew Kent Wilkie of Rutherfordton; brother, Cecil B. Wilkie and wife, Gloria of Forest City; sister, Cecile A. Johnson and husband, Billy G. of Bostic. He is also survived by one niece and three nephews all of Rutherfordton.
A committal service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place at Race Path Baptist Church Cemetery on a later date.
