Laura Mae Biggerstaff, age 93, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Laura was born Sunday, December 11, 1927 in Cleveland County to the late Fay Theodore Tesseneer and Addie Alberta Horne Tesseneer. After working in textiles for several years, she found her life’s passion in providing childcare at her home for many years. Laura enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel singing and loved attending church functions. She was a member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Hugh Biggerstaff; son Ricky Green; three sisters, Maude Allison, Doris Champion, Irene Waters and a brother, John Tesseneer.
Those left to cherish her memory include a grandson, Anthony Green of Forest City; sister-in-law, Kim Tesseneer of Shelby and a number of special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Cash officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 5:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
