Laverne Vipperman Blanton, age 49, of Mooresboro, NC, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Laverne was born October 20, 1963 in Danville, Virginia to the late Douglas W. Vipperman and Gaynelle Strader Murray who resides in Mooresboro, NC. She was a graduate of Dan River High School, class of 1981 and worked for Cone Mills for several years. She attended Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her children dearly.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Blanton; step-father, Wayne Murray and one grandson, A.J. Honeycutt.
Besides her mother, she is survived by three children, Stephanie Harville of Danville, Davina Akers and husband, Josh of Fort Bragg, NC and D.J. Osborne of Chatham, VA; one sister, Kimberly V. Smith and husband, L.D.; one brother Derek Vipperman all of Danville; grandmother, Verlie Vipperman of Danville; step-mother, Patricia Vipperman of Danville; three step-sisters, Tammy Nolen and husband, Arnold of Mooresboro, Cindy Vipperman and Diane Neal both of Danville; one step-brother, Ronnie Murray all of Mooresboro. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her loving pet, Cha-ha.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Danville, Virginia with Reverend Robert Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
Memorial donations are suggested to Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, Trip Fund, 1938 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043.
