Lee Ledbetter

Lee Ledbetter, age 79, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 due to a machinery accident.
Born May 24, 1939 in Buncombe County, he was a son to the late Rector Ledbetter and Gladys Bullock Ledbetter. Lee owned and operated Land Works Grading LLC for over thirty years. He and his wife, Betty, are the founding members of the local Chamber-Made Ministries, Inc. which is part of the Glory of Zion Ministry in Corinth, Texas. Lee loved gardening, farming and collecting tractors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Braswell and Joy McKenzie-Hardisty; two brothers, Guy Ledbetter, Neil Ledbetter and two uncles, Howard and James Hendrix.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of almost thirty five years, Betty K. Ledbetter; son, Joseph Lewis and wife, Lindsay of Columbus, NC; mother-in-law, Barbara J. Kinsman of Rutherfordton; four siblings, Carol Miller (Bob) of Traveler's Rest, SC, Wayne Ledbetter (Lynn) of Black Mountain, Don Ledbetter (Jan) of Black Mountain and Jannelle Martin (Al) of Hendersonville. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Abigail Lewis and Ian Lewis.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
