Lemuel Splawn

Lemuel Craig Splawn, 66, of 410 Piedmont Drive, Rutherfordton, died Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Hospice House of Forest City. Lemuel was born July 12, 1940 in Henrietta, NC to Mary Ellen Fortenberry Splawn and the late Howard Edward Splawn.
He was a retired pipe fitter and ironworker, Lemuel was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and later the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Henrietta Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by five sons, Eddie, Mike, and Chris Splawn of Forest City, Brian and Jeffery Splawn of Charlestown, West Virginia; three daughters Kim McCombs of Union Mills, Donna Beam of Forest City, and Kristi Lynn Splawn of Charlestown, West Virginia; 10 Grandchildren; a special friend Pamela Thrift Justice of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Ronald "Rusty" Splawn of Forest city, Michael Splawn of El Paso, TX, and James "Jim" Splawn of Huntington, Indiana; two sisters, Rita Splawn of Rutherfordton and Angela Splawn Scoggins of Mooresboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister Karen "Kay" Splawn O'Connor of Fayetteville, NC.
