Leona Tessnear

Leona Robbins Tessnear, age 82, of Henrietta, NC, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Hendersonville.
Leona was born October 4, 1928 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Archie Robbins and Viola Teseniar Robbins. She worked at Cone Mills and Doncaster Industries for many years and owned and operated her own beauty shop. She was a long time member of Henrietta First Baptist Church and enjoyed square dancing, rug making, cake decorating, and especially playing the piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tom Tessnear and one brother, Farrell Robbins.
Survivors include one daughter, Censythia Diane Whitaker and husband, Stanley of Shelby; one granddaughter, Julie Young and husband, Joe of Hickory; two great grandchildren, Abigail Young and Nathaniel Young; one brother, Rickey Robbins and wife, Dorlene of Henrietta; sister in-law, Annette Robbins of Henrietta; niece, Paige Toney and nephew, Pat Robbins.
