Leonard Arrowood

Leonard Arrowood, age 77, of Cliffside, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Leonard was born April 28, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Albert Arrowood and Dora Potter Arrowood. He worked as an auto body repair technician for forty-six years and most recently as the Body Shop Manager for Parks Chevrolet in Charlotte. Leonard was a member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a faithful member of Harris First Baptist Church. Leonard’s legacy was one of working hard and helping others out of a generous heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leonard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, W.J., Albert Jr. and Glen Arrowood and two sisters, Ruby Rumfelt and Joann Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Carolyn McCraw Arrowood; daughter, Vickie Arrowood Smith (Larry) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; three sons, Ralph Leonard Arrowood, Jr. of Cliffside, Larry Dean Arrowood (April Barnes) of Cliffside and Jeffery Dwayne Arrowood (Tammy) of Forest City; two sisters, Colene Nanney (Hugh) of Union Mills and Frances Shehan of Forest City and a brother, Roger Arrowood (Susie) of Kings Mountain. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Joshua Arrowood, Tyler Smith, Seth Arrowood, Dylan Arrowood, Daryn Arrowood, Bryce Arrowood, Carlee Arrowood, Lona Arrowood and Addison Arrowood and five great grandchildren, Maddox, Brody, Sawyer, Huck and Finn.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Harris First Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend George Whitmire officiating.
