Lili Marlene “Meme” Berube, age 75, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at her residence.
Marlene was born Monday, March 3, 1947 in Raleigh County, West Virginia to the late Raymond Dawson and Carolyn Sue Hedrick Dawson. She worked as an accountant for Youngblood & Massagee Law Firm in Hendersonville, NC for ten years and for the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville for many years. She was affectionately called “Meme” by her family. Marlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. Among her many talents and enjoyments was cooking for her family. Her specialty was her Tucar Pies and her Baked Ziti.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, John “Pepe” Berube; brother, Jimmy Dawson and sister, Jennifer Dawson.
Left to cherish fond memories are her daughter, Ann Ferguson (Fredrick) of Forest City; brother, Raymond Dawson (Susu) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Kim Adcock (Torry) of Hendersonville, Tina Sinnot (Arty) of Norfolk, Virginia and Michael Fink of Saluda, NC; six great-grandchildren, Connor Fink, Jeremy Harmon, Major Fink, Aliyah Hobbe, John Ryan Adcock and Wyatt James Adcock.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:30 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Mr. Michael Fink giving the eulogy.
