Lina Pruett

Lina Pruett, age 90, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Henderson Care in Forest City.  Lina was born Saturday, February 21, 1931 in Murnau, Germany to the late Virgil Engelmeier and Maria Reiter Engelmeier.  She worked as a seamstress for Buster Brown Industries for many years and was a dedicated homemaker. Lina was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Forest City. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, knitting and vegetable gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Carl Pruett, Jr.; son-in-law, Lars Petersen; and four sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Doris Vroman (Gordon) of Vista, California and Carol Susan Petersen of Newton, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Lars Petersen, Anna Petersen, Susan Petersen Countryman (Eric Countryman), Adam Petersen; great grandchildren, Addison Petersen, Lexi Vroman, Remi Vroman and a special niece, Patsy Pruett Ledbetter. The family wishes to thank Patsy for all her kindness and devoted care for Carl and Lina during their declining health.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Deacon Andy Cilone officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
