Linda Gail Goforth, age 70, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born November 12, 1946 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Fred Jackson and Nettie Leona Baynard Grant. Linda was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1965 and a homemaker. She was a faithful member of Chase Baptist Church. Linda loved taking care of her family and was also very dedicated to her church family. She had a burden for the children and youth of the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Rice and a brother, Arthur Grant.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty years, James R. Goforth; son, Jamie Goforth and wife, Cynthia of Forest City; sister, Aretta Grant of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Roy Lee Goforth and wife, Maxine of Cliffside. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Miranda Bridges and husband, Jacob and Dena Stinnette and husband, Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Calee Jolley, Laney Bridges, Carter Bridges and Ben Stinnette.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
