Lloyd Silver

Lloyd "Vance" Silver, Jr., age 66, of Walls Church Road, Ellenboro, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Born January 6, 1951 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son to the late Lloyd V. Silver, Sr. and Anace Calhoun Silver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Vance worked many years as a supervisor for Duke Power until retirement and was a gun enthusiast. He will always be known as a wonderful and loving husband and the "Best Dad" ever!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Bright and a brother, James Silver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-two years, Kathy Skipper Silver; daughter, Tia Silver Holtzclaw and husband, Billy of Florida; son, Jeff M. Silver and wife, Angie of Oregon and one sister, Joann McCurry of Sunshine and son-in-law, Scott Bright of Forest City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Macey Bright, Dillon Bright, Leslie Siegfred, Abbie Silver, Allie Silver, Chloe Holtzclaw and Bella Holtzclaw.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole and Mr. Larry Skipper officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. prior to the service time at the funeral home.
