Lola Mae Hawkins, age 88, of Forest City, NC, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born October 9, 1925 in White County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Milton Pitchford and Annie Mae Ward Pitchford. Lola worked most of her life for the Caroleen-Henrietta Mills and also for K & W Cafeteria in Kannapolis, NC. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed drawing, craftwork and birds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twenty brothers and sisters and two grandchildren, Melissa Davis and Christopher Fraley.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Huskey, Wanda Rector both of Forest City and Brenda Davis and husband, Ray of Bostic and one sister, Lorene Coffey and husband, Jimmy of Bostic. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Mark McCall, Scott McCall, Robbie Scott, Pennie Fisher and Rhonda Thompson; thirteen great-grandchildren, Gerald McCall, Anthony McCall, Xavier McCall, Harley McCall, Bailey McCall, Seth McCall, Morgan McCall, Josh Fisher, Brandon Fisher, Kylie Fisher, Breanne Church, Corey Church and five great-great-grandchildren, Bayla, Jackson, Colton, Sarah and Jacob.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Entombment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
