Lonnie G. Craft, age 76, of Forest City, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his residence.
Born August 4, 1941 in Letcher County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Willie Jack Craft and Ellen Mae Saylor Craft. Lonnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a cabinet maker for AGI Industries for forty-six years before retirement. He was very skilled in building things and could make almost anything out of wood, metal or plastic. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and especially loved restoring old cars. Lonnie was a faithful and long time member of High Shoal Baptist Church and served as a deacon, trustee, usher, choir member and RA leader. He loved God, his family and old cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Richard Craft and two sisters, Helen Ancheta and Deloris Craft.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over fifty-years, Carolyn D. Craft; son, Neil Craft and wife, Michelle of Forest City; daughter, April Craft Wall and husband, Virgil of Apex; two grandsons, Dax Wall and Manny Pimentel; two brothers, David Craft of Ellenboro and Danny Craft of Forest City; two sisters, Mary Stamper of Forest City and Janice Fleming of New Pekin, Indiana.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at High Shoal Baptist Church with Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
