Lorene Evans

Lorene "Rene" Evans, age 81, of Ellenboro, NC died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her residence.
Rene was born May 31, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Shufford Lovelace and Lillie Louise Lowery Lovelace. She worked for Stonecutter Mill for several years and as a dietician at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center for eighteen years. Rene was a member of Caroleen Congregational Holiness and enjoyed cooking, canning and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Evans Neal; son, Kim Evans; two brothers, Jerry Swink and Chuck Lovelace; two grandchildren, Kimberly Whiteside and Dusty Whiteside and two great-grandchildren, Michael Arrowood and Hayden Arrowood.
Those left to treasure her memory include her husband of sixty-seven years, Max Evans; three daughters, Wanda Grant (Alan) of Ellenboro, Rita Whiteside (Tim) of Ellenboro and Penny Floyd (Jeff) of Roebuck, SC; two sons, Jimmy Evans and Tim Evans (Donna) all of Ellenboro; two sisters, Margie Ramsey of Lincolnton and Kathey Hammett (Ronnie) of Boiling Springs, NC. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Caroleen Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Anthony Van Dyke, Tim Evans and Reverend Bryan Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
