Lorie Jean Smith

Lorie Jean Smith, age 61, of Ellenboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her residence.

Lorie was born Thursday, November 17, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Elmer Martin Beam and Angelina Orlando Beam. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Lorie was a dedicated wife and Christian and a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  She ministered to others through her biblical counseling classes and also taught a sixth-grade girls Sunday school class at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville, Michigan.  Lorie enjoyed quilting and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Beam and by four infant children.

Left to cherish fond memories include her loving husband of forty-two years, Albert Smith; brothers, Joe Beam (Jeannie) of Troy, Michigan and Steven Beam of Palm Springs, California; sister-in-law, Jan Norman (Van) of Ellenboro; nephews, Matthew Norman (Christy) of Ellenboro and Jim Beam of Roseville, MI; niece, Betsy Phillips (Tristan) of Chesterfield, Michigan and a great nephew, Levi Norman of Ellenboro.

A memorial graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Mills officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
