Louise Spicer Dedmon, age 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic.
Louise was born Saturday, April 6, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Gillie Washington Spicer and Hattie Lou Buff. She worked as a seamstress for several local companies for many years and was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church. Louise’s passion was sewing for her family and for the community. She used her gift to be a blessing to many. Louise also enjoyed gospel music and singing in churches with her family. Together they formed several singing groups throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Verge Dedmon; sisters, Irene Hall and Judy Tessnear; brothers, George, John, Abraham and Bobby Spicer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mary Elliott (Edward) of Bostic; son, Ray Dedmon (Cookie) of Rutherfordton; brother, Ronnie Spicer of Harris; sisters, Julie Lewis of Forest City and Janie Fleischer (Dale) of Youngstown, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jonathan Elliott (Amelia), Jennifer Turner (Eric), Wendy Wyatt (John), Jerrica Gillespie (Jeremy), Anna Reid (Tyler) and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13th at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
