Lucille Carpenter

Lucille Hamrick Carpenter, age 84, of Ellenboro, NC, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC.
Lucille was born on April 30, 1927 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Crawford T. Hamrick and Lola Burns Hamrick. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School and worked for Barclays American Credit Company in Forest City for many years. She was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and was actively involved with the UMW Circle #1. She loved sewing, cooking and flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, William Harmon Carpenter and one sister, Rebecca Burns Jones Wright.
Survivors include one son, Kenny Carpenter and wife, Lisa of Ellenboro; one daughter, Debbie Marney and husband, Bill of Cary, NC; one grandson, Mason Marney and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Chuck and Margie Shook of Walterboro, SC.
