Madlyn Jones

Madlyn 'Dib' Durham Jones, age 86, of 164 Church Street, Henrietta, NC, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Hospice House.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Upton Durham and Vinia Byars Durham. She was a homemaker and had worked for Cone Mills in Cliffside and Reeves Brothers Mills in Chesnee for many years. She enjoyed quilting, canning, traveling, the outdoors and especially spoiling grandkids. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Robert Jones, Sr. and two sisters, Katy McDaniel and Mary 'Top' McCraw.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Campfield and her husband, Charles of Henrietta, Mary Nichols and her husband, Greg of Gaffney, SC and Beverly Bailey and her husband, Norman of Forest City; one son, James Robert Jones, Jr. of Aurora, Colorado; one brother, Samuel Isaiah Durham of Ann Arbor, MI; two sisters, Alta Mae Thomas of Gaffney and Maudie Marjorie Vickers of Henrietta; two special friends, Jean Bailey, and Barbara Randolph. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
