Margaret Putnam Green, age 81, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019.
Margaret was born September 22, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late James William Silver and Dollie Byers Silver. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958 and a homemaker. Margaret was a long-time member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir leader and sang in the church quartet. She enjoyed reading and working on word search puzzles. Margaret's passion in life was taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Woodrow Putnam, Jr. and second husband, James Wade Green; two sons, Gary Wayne Putnam and Danny Putnam and many brothers and sisters.
Those left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Robin Cole (Ed) of Sandy Mush; one son, Jackie Putnam (Joy) of Cliffside; eight grandchildren, Shane Powell, Stephanie Hoyle (Chad), Sarah Koone (Brian), Shannon Owens (Josh), Courtney Putnam, Daniel Putnam (Taylor), Lindsey Putnam, Chasity Putnam and nine great-grandchildren, Shana Hoyle, Stephen Hoyle, Blaine Pruett, Aubrey Pruett, Zachary Powell and Mackinzie Powell, Maria Koone, Jesse Koone and Jake Owens.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Goodes Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry White, Reverend Chad Hayes and Reverend Glenn Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
