Margaret Splawn

Margaret Verdene Splawn, age 77, of Forest City, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at her residence.
Margaret was born on May 16, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late E.V. Splawn and Mary Estelle Gosey Splawn. Margaret was a Navy Wave from 1956 to 1959. Margaret was also a registered nurse for thirty-four years (Acute Care for psychiatric patients). Her career, family, and belief in God were her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Splawn, and nephews, Vernon Splawn Jr and Ronald G. Bowman.
She is survived by her brother, Vernon Splawn of Loganville, GA; a sister, Shirley Glawson and husband George of Forest City; a sister, Helen S. Bowman of Lawndale; another sister, Sylvia Scruggs of Sandy Mush; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery of Forest City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
