Margaret Yelton

March 31, 1924 — September 12, 2018

Margaret Yelton, age 94, of Belmont, NC, formerly of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, SC.
Born March 31, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Buster McSwain and Mamie Moore McSwain. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and worked for Burlington Industries for many years and retired from Roses Department Store. Margaret was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. She also enjoyed ceramics, various craftwork and painting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Reverend James L. Yelton; two sisters, Inez Grant and Mildred Forbes; two brothers, George McSwain, Tommy McSwain and a granddaughter, Heather Siebert.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Geovinna Siebert and husband, Klaus of Belmont and Sandra Harwood and husband, Linwood of Boiling Springs, SC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
